What is the Historian's Craft?


The "Historian's Craft" is the methodology used by historians to take information they have collected through research, to analyze it, draw inferences or general conclusions from it, and to synthesize their findings into a conclusion.

In Memories & Stories, emphasis is placed upon activities that engage learners like you to explore the basic skills of the 'Historian's Craft.' You are challenged to interpret primary sources in a variety of ways; by studying documents, photographs, artifacts, and diaries. You can do this by utilizing the resources found in each Era of Memories & Stories, and also those found in your own local museums, libraries, schools, and homes.
