Era of Boom & Bust

North Dakota expanded with the rest of the nation during the 1880's and its people survived the depression of the 1890's. Soon the state was booming again with bright dreams of prosperity brought on by the golden age of agriculture. However, these bright dreams were blown away with the soil as the prices of farm products dropped, the rain failed to come, and the wind swept across the prairie. Bright dreams turned to hard times.
